LifeStraw Go Water Filter Bottle with 2-Stage Integrated Filter Straw for Travel, Hiking, Camping & Emergency Preparedness

LifeStraw® Go 2-Stage incorporates the award-winning LifeStraw® technology as well as a carbon capsule into a durable water bottle, and makes it perfect for outdoor adventures or as your daily hydration partner.

How it works

The BPA-free water bottle has a build-in LifeStraw® and will filter up to 4,000 liters of contaminated water. The advanced 2-stage water filter is extremely robust and comes with a special carbon capsule. The first stage of filtration features a replaceable hollow fiber membrane which filters to 0.2 microns and removes almost 100% of waterborne bacteria and waterborne protozoan parasites. Afterward, the second stage of filtration puts water through a replaceable activated carbon capsule, which reduces organic chemical matter (pesticides, herbicides, VOCs).

The LifeStraw® Go 2-Stage Bottle has the same specifications as the original LifeStraw® and can provide you with safe drinking water anywhere you are – without using iodine, chlorine, or other chemicals. The activated carbon filter additionally reduces odor, organic chemical matter and leaves zero aftertastes.  It is a great and more innovative alternative to iodine tablets and bulky purifiers. The food-grade flexible silicone mouthpiece is removable for easy cleaning. The LifeStraw® technology has been independently tested and certified to meet EU directive 10/2011 and EU directive 1935/2004 regulatory standards.

reat Product We bought this water bottle for a trip to Disney. We filled it up with water fountain water as opposed to buying $5 waters all day. There is a newer model of this product that has a carbon filter that will filter out chlorine/chlorine taste - this product does not and the chlorine can still be tasted. That being said, for half the price of the newer product, this is a great option. I will be taking it on trips in the future on business, camping, etc for easily accessible clean drinking water. The straw is a bit hard to suck through, as you are bringing the water through the filter as you drink, just something to keep in mind. Great product and will be buying replacement straws when this one is finished.

Very useful My wife and I each got one and this was really handy on the Inca Trail. We did not have to carry water and instead would fill this up from running streams by the trail. I was able to drink as much water as I wanted... way more than I could have carried each day. Besides using this on our hikes, we used this in all of our hotels in Peru and Bolivia for three weeks... to have safe water to brush our teeth and drink too.

Very effective Great water bottles. This was my first exposure to the LifeStraw, and I was very satisfied. We collected water from a waterfall while hiking and the resulting drinks were clean, flavorless, and didn't make us ill. You can drink fairly rapidly despite having to suction the water through all the filaments. The carabiner makes it easy to clip anywhere I want to carry it. Other reviews were concerned about the distance between straw and bottom; for me, there was not enough distance to make a difference in its effectiveness. I wouldn't have given it thought if I hadn't seen reviews about it, honestly. I would get this item again.

Great bottle for travel Overall, I really like this bottle! I hate disposable plastic water bottles, so I bought this for a trip to Mexico City. The water there isn't drinkable, but I filled this bottle up several times a day for a week and never got sick! I like the silicone mouthpiece that snaps up and down for easy access. The carabiner also makes it easy to clip onto your backpack as you travel. I generally avoid plastic, but I've had my stainless steel water bottle confiscated at various places internationally, so I went with a plastic bottle for my trip and I'm glad I did.

This is a Best Buy! This water bottle was the best, hands down, among several other types and brands that my family and I tested. We need filtered water bottles for our summer trip and wanted the best available so we did our own comparison test. Compared to similar types and brands of water bottles, I found that it was easier to drink from the straw on this bottle. It required as much suction as you would use to suck through your typical fast food beverage straws. The "other" brands were another story, and some felt like I was sucking up more air than water. And yes, I made sure to check the seals and all that. I've also read some reviews about getting a chemical taste from drinking, but I have not encountered that with mine. The water has been cool and refreshing with no aftertaste! I like the design of this water bottle as well since the straw/spout is integrated into the bottle cap and is protected when folded down and not in use. Other bottle designs have the straw/spout not fully covered so there's a high probability of getting contamination or dirt in it. So far no leaks as I've tilted it upside down and laid it on its side for a few hours. The only thing I wish was this bottle came in other colors besides blue. I really like the LifeStraw Go Water Bottle and plan on ordering more for the rest of the family.

A necessity for saving weight on hikes. I bought this to take with me on a 3 day hike. Water weighs quite a bit and can really add pounds to your pack. The hike that I was going on followed a river the whole way. I had plenty of water, but no easy way to purify it on the go. I have water purification tabs, but they are not my favorite. The Lifesraw Go is very convenient. It's a Lifestraw in a bottle. All I had to do is fill it up and drink. Any sediment settles at the bottom underneath the end of the filter. When you refill you just rinse it out. As you fill the bottle, you blow on the mouthpiece to clear the filter. It's not necessary, but it does help it to last longer. You will notice that drinking from it is like drinking a milkshake. You won't be taking huge gulps out of the straw. It's a trade off I'm willing to take to keep from getting sick from whatever is in the water. The bottle is tough and the cap is plastic with rubber molded over it. I set my pack on it several times, and knocked it on some rocks. I experienced leaking and only minor scuffs. For all that it does, the Lifestraw Go is a deal. I would have paid 3x as much for this product. It is one of the most essential pieces of gear for me now. Would highly recommend.

Great Bottle I purchased two of these bottles for a father son backpacking trip to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. They worked wonderfully. We were able to get water from creeks and both lakes we visited. It was nice to just dip the container in the lake and throw the lid on and drink. In response to reviewers who say there is a bad taste you need to clean it extra good. There was a gross plastic taste after I cleaned the bottle per the included instructions but I let it completely dry out, cleaned it all again and then filtered two more containers worth of water through it and the bad taste went away. Love this product so far. My next purchase will be a MSR Trailshot pocket sized water filter so I can fill my kettle for dehydrated meals.
